Abstract:
As society transverses into a realm where information and media affects almost every aspect of our life, this class will begin to explore the possibilities where we as designers can begin to have an impact in shaping this emerging world. This course will give you the technical skills and innovative design principals for application in practicing across multiple digital disciplines.
Method of Instruction:
This course will be taught in a lecture format introducing topics and initiating a series of assignments to be done on the computer. The class will incorporate an interactive laboratory (Fridays), initiate group discussions and formulate critiques of work.
Process:
Through a series of exercises we will engage in understanding visualization, interactive media, digital film and computer-modeling principals. Topics will be demonstrated through weekly examples, and executed by the student as digital formulations. We will formulate a methodology for working in digital design and output several projects throughout the semester to demonstrate skill development.
